%X This work is based on the project: SOCIAL TECHNOLOGY FOR MANAGEMENT AND REHABILITATION OF DEGRADED AREAS IN THE UPPER PORTION OF THE BASIN Pajeu - PERNAMBUCO MCT-INSA/CNPq/CT-Hidro/Ação Transversal's edict No. 35/2010 - Sustainable Development of the Brazilian Semiarid (Process 562858/2010-5) and uses the paradigms of Social mapping, Social Geocartografia to assist in the recovery of degraded areas including society participation in the use of maps in the study of vegetation, water and soils. We will show to the community how a map can show the region of interest, and can be used as a means of easy communication between people, to see their role as sites, rivers, dams, degraded land or infertile, etc., are arranged in space and how this provision can be used in favor of environmental preservation. The measures of environmental remediation of land, vegetation and water studied and implemented in synergy with communities on maps have a means of population to become more independent and able to make decisions about how best to use the space for the benefit of local society.
